Carbon fibre is an advanced composite material consisting of very thin carbon filaments (between 5-10 micrometres in diameter, thinner than a human hair) woven together and immersed in a matrix, typically of epoxy resin.
We store the rolls of impregnated fabric at -20°, to prevent them from hardening. Once we receive the final plans from the technical department, we move on to the cutting plotter to make the templates necessary for processing. We then move on to the clean room to lay the fabric in the moulds in an environment with controlled temperature, humidity and dust, and to apply the vacuum bag.
Then it's time for the autoclave: in 3-4 hours we accelerate the hardening of the fabric at controlled temperatures above 130°. With the extraction from the mould, the piece is done. We proceed with hand or machine trimming and quality and safety control. If required, we conclude with final assembly and gloss or matt painting.
Carbon fibre is a very versatile composite because it is light, it offers high mechanical strength, and it's resistant to shocks, high temperatures, corrosive substances, and weathering. Its rigidity makes it durable over time. It has electrical conductivity and low thermal expansion.
Thanks to its physical and mechanical properties, carbon fibre has many applications, especially in the automotive, aerospace, medical, art, design and sports sectors.
Carbon (C) is a chemical element found in nature in the form of carbon, graphite or diamond. Carbon fibre, on the other hand, is an advanced composite material, artificially created and structured into very thin filaments made up of carbon atoms.
Yes, we do. We can develop your designs from scratch or help you optimise the concept and manufacture, before and after product testing in minimum quantities to achieve the best result for serial production.
It depends on the project and development phase. Thanks to the 3D printers, we are also able to produce individual parts and minimum quantities for product testing.
At Carbonteam we mainly work on a B2B basis, with other companies in Italy and worldwide. However, we are open to all projects submitted to us and to assessing their sustainability, with a view to changing the course of history together. If you have an idea, please contact us.
Yes, we have already developed partnerships with customers outside the European Community and in the USA.
Carbonteam is an ISO 9001-certified company, as well as having an integrated quality and safety policy. All our personnel are continuously trained on and kept abreast of compliance procedures to achieve high standards and excellent performance.
We believe in ideas and we protect them. With many of our clients, we have signed confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements and clauses (NDAs). We adhere to strict procedures, and capturing images or videos with smartphones is prohibited in production. We invest every year in the cybersecurity of systems and training people on the subject, to fend off hacker attacks and attempts to steal patents.
Talk to us first. We will quickly assess the feasibility and sustainability of your project and determine whether we are the best partner to develop it together.
e evaluate each project in detail to assess its actual sustainability. We are ready to learn and acquire skills and knowledge, as we have been doing for over 20 years.
